In china, the social role of women has been ranked as a worthy wife and mother in a longperiod of time. Furthermore, the conception of “Mediocrity is the virtue of women.” has beendeeply rooted in china’s traditional culture. Traditionally, women should shoulder moreresponsibility for family, but not the social obligation. Influenced by this conception, the fieldof business is mainly characterized by men. So, in china, the career women often encounter thequestion of “glass ceiling”—an unfair system that prevents some people, especially women,from reaching the most senior positions in an organization. However, with the rapiddevelopment of China’s social economy, the situation has been changing unprecedentedly.Women managers have been rising suddenly in business filed, and they create more and morebusiness miracle with a strong momentum, and make a real achievement which is not inferior tomen in the same profession. The rapid rising of the women managers has attracted the eyeballof all circles, and more and more scholars have begun to study the relationship betweenwomen’s participation in top management team and the management of business.On the basis of those scholars’ researches, using the data from2010to2012, this articlewill study listed companies on GEM in the Shenzhen stock market to discuss the relationbetween women’s participation in top management team and the growth of enterprise; besides,the article will put this relation into the background of two variables—trade differences andhuman resources of top women managers—to further explore the influencing factors of thisrelation.The study shows women’s participation in top management team has passive influences on the growth of listed companies on GEM; human resources of top women managers and tradedifferences have not remarkable effect of this relation.
