Company A is a foreign-invested establishment which produces automobile coatings,on account of car demand growth slowing down, increasing price of raw materials, theoverstaffed structure of the organization and inefficient operation pressure, company’sdevelopment appears bottlenecks. At the same time Company A finds its product’smarket share is declining, investigating its reason is company’s new product developmentcycle is longer than rival company, and lower level of new product innovation. Forchanging the disadvantageous situation, Company A chooses the method of new productdevelopment process improvement, hoping through the research and developmentprocess improvement to shorten new product development cycle, improve the efficiencyof product development, reduce the cost of research and development, and improveproduct market share and competitiveness.This paper is based on the theory of organization, the management theory of productdevelopment, business process management theory to analyze the process of CompanyA. The serial process of research and development cause many problems, such as lackof overall coordination, too long cycle of new product development;Due to theunreasonable organization structure lead to problems in the process is not solved in timeand the split research and development process, the theory provide theoretical supportfor solving the problems.Combined with the coating industry, the situation of the customer’s requirements andtechnical level of competition analysis of the current research and development process,finds the problems existing in the current process and process improvement andorganizational structure adjustment, and a series of security solution against thesemeasures to ensure the smooth implementation of the improved process. Through theimprovement of three months after the implementation of the development process,research and development process of Company A consumption reduce10.3%of thetime, the cost of reduce10%, developers can decrease10%, reduce customer’scomplaints, the develop process improvement effect is obvious.The paper based on the research and development of Company A is a case toexplore the study of the process improvement. Helping other manufacturing enterprisesthat have certain reference significance to reduce its decision-making errors, to improvethe effect of process improvement and reduce the risk. However, any business processimprovement is a never-ending exploration optimal process. In the era of progress,company’s new product research and development process also need to constantlyperfect in practice.
