| Nowadays, not a company can’t refuse that it wants an organization flexible enough to adjust quickly to changing market conditions, lean enough to beat any competitor’s price, innovative enough to keep its products and services technologically fresh, and dedicated enough to deliver maximum quality and customer service. Business process reengineering (BPR) and Business process improvement (BPI) were defined as the fundamental rethinking and redesign of business process to achieve dramatic improvements in critical, contemporary measures of performance, such as cost, quality, service delivery and speed(Hammer&Champy1993). The organizational processes will be evaluated, changed or eliminated.Firstly this paper mentions the background, method, target and value of project research, afterwards it highlights the point of apply DFSS into BPI on the basis of investigating6sigma and DFSS. And it is doing feasibility study to provide theoretical support and decision guideline for applying DFSS into BPI. Eventually it uses a real project example--Smart Residential Gateway, to demonstrate the whole process of DFSS. The theoretical system of Product Innovation Business Process Improvement basing on Design for Six Sigma has been built successfully initially. In this article creation, the author addresses importance to combine the theoretical analysis with practice at a great deal of literature and market research simultaneously. The Flow Chart, DFMEA and some other methods have been used in this article. In the theoretical aspects, the paper bases on DFSS architecture and implements PDM methodology to realize innovation business process improvement. Meanwhile this paper is intended to give guidance on implementation of DFx method in BPI project. It is a systematic approach for industries of various fields. For very enterprise, it is a critical factor to realize BPI goal-Realize the innovative products with economic and robust design, achieving world-class quality eventually. |
