Literature And Performance Of Danwei And Motivation Of State-owned Enterprises During The Planned Economy Period

During the planned economy period, the literature and performance of Danwei instate-owned enterprises were an important way of motivation. Because of themotivation from the literature and performance of Danwei, there were strongercohesion in Danwei. And the cohesion made the employees work more actively inproduction activity and other activities.This paper combines the literature and performance of Danwei with the Danweisystem and culture, analyzes its origin and evolution and divides it into three maintypes: the production stimulating type, political motivation type and ceremony type.The specialities of the motivation from the literature and performance of Danwei areextracted from the analysis above. Firstly, the literature and performance of Danweiplayed an important role in motivation because it satisfied the need of spiritual cultureand self-realization. People in Danwei were influenced by the culture from theliterature and performance of Danwei and at the same time the interests andspecialties were developed. Secondly, the literature and performance of Danwei was aimperceptible way of motivation carried by literature and performances and thearousing of emotion played a vital role in the process of motivation. The cohesion ofpeople in Danwei were enhanced because the common emotion and recognition weredeveloped in the literature and performance of Danwei. Thirdly, the literature andperformance of Danwei was based on organizations, participative and internalizingway of motivation. People in Danwei joined in the organizations and become a newbody of motivation.With the advent of market economy and disappearance of planned economy, theliterature and performance of Danwei has been transformed into new ways. However,study on motivation at the time of planned economy still puts a light on themotivation in state-owned enterprises currently. At first, as a part of the contruction oforganizational culture in an enterprise, the literature and performance of Danwei mustsatisfy multiple requirements of the members of an organization, especially themembers’ spiritual requirements for self-realization. This determines that the forms of literature and performance of an organization in "Post-Danwei Period" should seizethe pivotal idea and promote the diversified development and realization of self-value.Secondly, the emotional motivation is an important feature of the literature andperformance of Danwei in Planned economy period and plays a guiding role in theconstruction and development of today’s organizational culture. Only if the members’love for organization is raised, will the stronger working enthusiasm be produced andthe positive organizational atmosphere be formed. And then, the development of anorganization will be promoted. Finally, the organizational culture is embedded intoinstitutional culture. Today, with societal atomization and patronization, theseinspirations play a significant guiding role in the enhancement of the cohesion andcentripetal force in our organizations.
