The Predicament An Unter-measures Of Urbanization Of Migrant Workers In China

The term, migrant workers, occurred after the imbalance of the development of pro ductivity between urban and rural areas. It should be noted that the urbanization of migrant workers has been regarded as an essential approach to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, boost economic development, as well as solve rural issues concerning "agriculture, countryside and farmers, with the advance of industrialization, urbanization, and modernization of agriculture. However, factors, such as household registration system, land policy and incomplete social security system, hinder the process of urbanization of migrant workers. Therefore, in the dissertation, the author strives to the innovation and reformation that may accelerate this process from the perspectives of policies, human capital and subjective consciousness. And it is concluded that the fundamentals of transferring surplus labor lies in the low-level, multilayer and imbalanced productivity. Local transfer and the development of township enterprises are considered a new pathway. In order to achieve this, the author in this dissertation studied obstacles during the process of urbanization of migrant workers by applying Marxist dialectics, literature analysis method, and research methods in new political economy under the circumstance of the new-pattern urbanization. The research of this dissertation is theoretical-based; hopefully it will provide a reference for other researchers in the realization of transferring migrant workers into urban people in the future.In this dissertation, the author first introduced the background, meaningfulness, aims, and possible innovation points of the paper.Meanwhile,from the reason,the current situation,the level of measure,restraining factor and the approaches of urbanization of migrant workers summing up the literature. In the second section, the focus will be put on the definition of conception on transformation of agricultural population within China. In the thirdth section, the review of the history of the urbanization process will be presented. Also, detailed discussion on the obstacles appeared through the process will be provided, followed by the explanation of major reasons. After that,measuing the level of migrangt workers of urbanization and finding the reason.In the fifth section, possible experiences may be learned by virtue of the study of the successful transfer of surplus labor in other countries. And tentative suggestions on the reform of policies on the acceleration the process of urbanization of migrant workers in accordance with China’s current situations will be addressed in the last section.
