The Study Of The Investment Opportunities In Vietnam, Laos And Myanmar For China

The development process of regional economic integration is accelerating.Since the GMS officially launched in1992, the sub-regional cooperation including Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, China (Yunnan and Guangxi) has gone through20years of ups and downs. Since2002, China and ASEAN "10+1" China-ASEAN cooperation is deepening, has signed with the signing of various cooperation agreements. Until New Year’s Day of2010, China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) had officially built,which is the largest free trade zone among developing countries.Then, the National Development and Reform Commission issued guidance on the importance of Bridgehead Strategy in2009,and it caused widespread concern. What’s more,President Xi Jinping put forward "One Belt and One Road" strategic concept in late2013, to promote and enhance interoperability among countries in Asia, Europe and Africa. Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos are all ASEAN member countries. They all own geographical advantages with China, being bound by Yunnan,and they are not only the unicom hub between China and ASEAN, but also an important part of the strategic concept of "One Belt and One Road" in associating with South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific.An unprecedented pomp of bilateral economic cooperation is coming soon,with the completion of CAFTA and the implement of Bridgehead Strategy and One Belt and One Road. On the basis of geo-economic theory, the theory of marginal industry and the theory of motivation factors combination,we try to study the investment environment of Vietnam,Laos and Myanmar respectively from the aspect of the natural environment,social and cultural environment,political environment,economic environment and key investment industries. Then, we try to analyze Chinese enterprises’invest opportunities in the three countries from the market characteristics, investment situations and main problems,and propose the key industry in investment.Finally,we make suggestions on the investment recommendations in Vietnam,Laos and Myanmar for Chinese enterprises,including enhancing investment awareness,environmentally conscious, Investment diversification,strengthening risk prevention and broadening the financing channels for SMEs.
