Currently, coal-fired power generation plays an important role in China’s energy development strategy. Fuel expenses accounted for most of the thermal power enterprises spending more than 70% of the cost of electricity, directly affects the thermal power plant operating conditions, once-fired power plants because there is no money to buy coal and was forced to stop production, is likely to occur locally heat, electricity a shortage of supply. The main distribution area of coal and electricity production in the northwest, but the demand for electricity mainly in the eastern, northern and south-central areas, the coal transportation and inventory management is increasingly important. In recent years, highlighting the environmental problems of coal-fired electricity generation by more and more criticism, to ensure the power supply situation, we should make every effort to achieve emission reduction targets.In this paper, multilevel inventory of coal supply chain optimization were studied multilevel reflected in the electricity supply from the supplier to a distributor, then to two distributors, and finally to the power generation business. In this paper, the vendor managed inventory, combined with inventory management and collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment three kinds of supply chain inventory management method is introduced into the coal supply chain inventory management, and the corresponding thermal coal supply chain multi-echelon inventory optimization strategies and more level inventory cost optimization model.Firstly, this paper starts with the current situation of inventory management at home and abroad, based on the coal supply chain basic theory research, analyzed the formation and composition of coal inventory cost, and compared supplier management inventory, joint inventory management and collaborative planning, forecasting and supply chain inventory management, forecasting and replenishment this three kinds of supply chain inventory management methods. Secondly, the main problems of coal supply chain inventory management exist were analyzed, and the corresponding inventory optimization requirements. After study of two coal supply chain structure, focusing on the many aspects of coal procurement, transportation, environmental protection and information sharing on the coal supply chain multi-echelon inventory optimization analysis. Finally, a multi-level inventory cost optimization model and coal-fired a multi-stage supply chain inventory optimization are analyzed.Through the coal supply chain multi-echelon inventory optimization can reduce coal inventory management costs, improve management efficiency and further enhance customer satisfaction and improve the electricity supply chain node while improving corporate earnings each node enterprise environmental standards.
