New-type urbanization is proposed on the basis of C hina’s national conditions,it is the inevitable choice under the guidance of the scientific concept of development,is the inevitable requirement of social transformation,is the only way to achieve sustainable development and build a harmonious society.Jiangxi Province is a central province, has an important strategic location and superior position, but long-term low level urbanization in Jiangxi Province has become an important reason for restricting the overall development of the region of Jiangxi Province. With two national strategy implementation in Jiangxi Province,Jiangxi Province has entered a new stage:the process of industrialization accelerates, some significant changes exists in the economic structure.Accelerating new-type urbanization process has become an urgent requirement for regional development in Jiangxi Province.Urbanization quality and size are the two components of the new town, and the two are dependent closely,so reasonably handling the relationship between the two has great significance for the health of new-type urbanization.First, based on the definition of new quality and scale of urbanization, combining situation in the province of Jiangxi, this paper constructs the evaluation index system for new-type urbanization and the relationship between quality and size measure are constructed; Second, we analyze the level of and the new-type urbanization ’ s quality and scale of 11 cities in Jiangxi;Third,by using the coordination of the model and the improved classification method,we study the relationship between the quality and scale of new-type urbanization of 11 cities in Jiangxi Province from 2003~2013.These studies indicate that: ① new-type urbanization of Jiangxi province and urbanization comprehensive level of quality and scale are improving constantly, the spatial pattern of urbanization comprehensive level and quality remained north to south of the spatial pattern, while the scale of urban has a high middle and low ends of the spatia l pattern; ②By using the model, the relationship between the quality and the size of new-type urbanization in Jiangxi Province was mainly offset in 2003, until 2013 all cities enter the stage of the coordinated development, Their harmonious relation shows a trend of upgrading, and its spatial pattern is from north to south;③By using an improved method of quadrant classification, the study shows that:over time, new-type urbanization in Jiangxi Province continues to move closer toward the direction that the overall level is gradually from low level to the high level, the harmonious relationship between quality and size is from urbanization lag model to advance the quality of urbanization type, the degree of deviation of quality and size is smaller and smaller. From 2003 to 2013,the coordinated development of the relationship between quality and scale of urbanization in Jiangxi Province has a clear differentiation from north to south. As at 2013,most cities in Jiangxi are still in the low ahead of different degrees of urbanization, the degree of deviation of quality and size is smaller;④combined the results of the comprehensive coordination and Quadrant,we can find that:the relationship between the quality of urbanization and urbanization,s quality and size has a significant positive correlation; ⑤ Based on those studies and conclusions, there is a phenomenon worthy of attention:the new scale of urbanization in Jiangxi lag in quality,While for the new C urrent development Situation of new-type urbanization in different cities, local conditions need to be adapted, different development strategies should be taken.
