With the development of the website technology, the retail industry is the most dramatic changes format in our country, but also the most urgent needs of changes in the logistics industry. Retail enterprises have attempted to build logistics distribution center, but the overall level is low, the operation efficiency is not ideal. As the core of the distribution center, the order picking process is biggest of labor intensity, the highest error rate of the link in distribution center operation. Its excellent or not seriously affects the efficiency of the logistics distribution center, but also is a serious impact on the function of distribution center.This paper takes the retail chain pharmacy distribution center as the research object, discussed the method to improve the logistics distribution center picking efficiency with the integration of mathematical modeling and simulation optimization from the perspective of the picking strategy and the selection model. Firstly, the paper use the EIQ analysis method to analyze the order characteristics of the distribution center deeply, which provides a reference for the optimization design of the picking mode. Then, this paper simulated the research object by using the Flexsim simulation software, and summarized the existing problems of the order picking system through the analysis of simulation results, and proposed on the picking system optimization scheme of the current situation from the picking strategy and the picking model. Then, about the partition storage location problem, the paper established the partition storage location assignment problem with balanced partition sorting operation time as the optimization goal based on the model assumptions of the original strategy(including the batching strategy and the stategy of the selection path). And it solved by using Sheffield genetic algorithm toolbox based on the MATLAB, and make out the results of the partition storage location. Finally, about the optimization of the picking mode, the paper put forward three optimization schemes of the different picking mode combining the optimization results of the picking strategy, and carried out a simulation experiment using the flexsim simulation software, analyzed the rationality of the schemes, the efficiency of the equipment operation, and the influence to the order picking efficiency.
