A Study On Measuring Of Urban And Rural Economic Integration Of The Inner Mongolia

Urban and rural areas are two regions with different connotations in china, both plays different role in the process of reform and opening up. In the guidance of city-oriented policy, the speed of the construction and scale of investment in city is much higher than rural areas. So the gap between urban and rural areas continues to expand, which have formed a very salient dual structure of economic. With the development of reform and opening, the issue of coordination between urban and rural has become an obstacle to the further development of china. Especially for minority areas, the coordinated development of urban and rural is not only related to the economic development of minority areas, but also to political stability. Therefore, how to properly adjust the relationship between urban and rural areas and get rid of the dual structure, is the urgent problem in today.This study, which focus on Inner Mongolia areas, is based on the theory of Urban-rural relations and the scientific definition of urban and rural economic integration rset up a scientific and rational system of economic integration indicators to make a empirical analysis to the level of integration of urban and rural economy of Inner Mongolia in overall dimensions and regional level.This study come to the following conclusions:First, the level of urban and rural economic integration of the Inner Mongolia is rising but slowly, which means economic integration between urban and rural is becoming much better. But the increasing speed of level is very slow and the reason of this trend is the speciality of economy of ethnic area and imperfectness of transportation network between urban and rural area and financial support.Second, the level of the urban and rural economic integration is much different between regions, especially in the income and expenditure and investment and economic structure. The level of the urban and rural economic integration of the "Hu-Bao-E" is much higher than any other place.From what we have discussed,we can putting forward some suggestions as follows:First, we should formulated scitific plan of urban and rural economic intergration. Second, we should inonate the institutional mechanisms which benefic the urban and rural economic intergration. Thrid, we should change the traditional mode of industrialization. The last, we have to advancing the urbanization.
