In the 21 st century, as a new business model, electronic commerce is paid more and more attention by firms. In order to chase the pace of The Times, domestic companies keep trying e-commerce. However, not every firm in e-commerce operation has obtained the ideal performance. What’s more, there is lack of empirical research about the impacts of relationship with electronic commerce and corporate performance in the domestic. So there comes the need of theory and practice to solve the problem: how does the implementation of the electronic commerce affect the firm performance? Therefore, this article will study how e-commerce operation decision events influences company performance through collecting second- hand data of firms’ electronic commerce decision- making from the perspective of quantitative analysis, using event study method. And we will also study how the related factors in e-commerce operation decisions events impact on corporate performance. So the purpose of this paper is to make up for the defect of the relationship between the implementation of the electronic commerce and the firm performance, giving decision makers a theoretical reference for whether to adopt e-commerce or not.This paper mainly discusses how the e-commerce operation decision events affects on corporate performance, using event study to analyze the relevant data of C hinese firms. We will prove the relationship between e-commerce operation decision- making events and corporate performance, and analyze how every related factor influences e-commerce operation decision-making events on corporate performance and its change trend from the aspects of short-term effects and long term. Firstly, this article will introduce the thesis research background and research status in domestic and overseas. Secondly, we will introduce the basic research methods and discusses the solution of the key problems. Then we will briefly introduce the factors of the influence of electronic commerce operation decision events on corporate performance. After that, we will parse the data-collection process of the sample research. Ultimately, we choose the reason and process of 286 sample events from year 2008 to year 2014. Our study has firstly verified the e-commerce operation mak ing an impact on corporate performance, and has divided the impact of e-commerce on company operation into two aspects: short-term impact and long-term impact research. In the short-term impact research, we analyze the effect factors of electronic commerce decision- making on corporate performance. And we prove the impact of various factors on corporate performance due to the implementation of e-commerce through studying sample data. Then we analyze firms’ cumulative performance of short-term, verifying the influence degree of various factors on corporate performance, and discuss the changes in relationship between influence factors and time. In the long-term impact research, we will study the influence of various factors on the corporate performance. And the n we will analyze the trend of influence of electronic commerce operation decision on corporate performance. In the last chapter, we will test the robustness of the research method, as well as verifying the rationality of the research method and the credibility of the research results in this paper.
