Aquatic products processing industry is one of the three most important industry of aquaculture, is an extension of the aquaculture and fishing. Our country is one of the important aquatic products processing power in the world, since reform and opening-up policy, therehas been a rapid growth of Chinese aquatic products processing industry, formed system of aquatic products processing with products such as frozen processed products, tin products, dry salted products and so on. With the continuous development of Chinese aquatic product processing industry, especially since China join the World Trade Organization, China’s aquatic products processing trade got great progress, aquatic products processing trade exports increased significantly. Aquatic products trade has been playingan important role in our country agricultural products trade, and aquatic products processing trade as an important component of the aquatic product trade, its development has the vital significance in the development of China’s aquatic products trade. So how to better achieve the development of aquatic products processing trade, is not only the trace to speed up the development of the main content of Chinese fishery modernization, but also the trace to optimize the structure of aquaculture industry in China, and the way to realize effective value-added industry. However,in recent years, be influenced byfactors such as the rising labor costs, the RMB continue appreciation, the increase of raw materials import prices, and the global economic downturn, since 2008 the steady growth of Chinese aquatic products processing trade is over, exports of aquatic products processing industry accounted for its manufactured goods export of aquatic products in the proportion of the overall decreased year by year. Base on aquatic product processing industry belongs to the labor-intensive industries, labor costs occupies a large proportion in the cost of aquatic products manufactured goods, so whether and how does labor costinfluence Chinese aquatic products processing trade, has important theoretical and realistic significance. However for a long time, the study of aquatic products processing trade had been included to the fisheries economics category, and the study of labor costs has been belonging to labor economics category, so few scholars will combine these two research object which belong to two different fields, and analyze the influence of labor cost on aquatic products processing trade in our country. So the study of how dose the rising labor costs impact aquatic products processing trade obviously lags behind the practice of economic development. This paper selects Chinese labor costs and aquatic products processing trade of China as the main research object. Made athorough inquiry about this problem from two aspects theoretical and empirical, in the angle of theory research, this paper introduces the related theory and background of international trade, summarizes the domestic and foreign scholars’ research for labor costs and aquatic products processing trade. And analyze the relevant data ofChinese labor cost and the status of the aquatic products processing trade of our country. In the perspective of empirical study, this paper based on the actual situation of the rapid growth of Chinese laborproductivity, use unit labor costs instead of horizontal workers wages as thevariable to measure labor cost, combined with the various related factors affecting Chineseaquatic products processing trade, choose regression analysis as the main empirical analysis method, establish vector autoregressive model (VAR model), to explore the effects of rising labor costs on aquatic products processing trade. The results showthat unit labor costs have obvious impact on unit aquatic products processing trade exports. In addition, because the data condition and level of author is limited, the analysis and research in this paperstill verysuperficial and have omissions which need further revision and improvement. So I hope could have the chance to do further research on the relationship between unit labor costs and specific aquatic products processing industry in the future.
