Technical innovation brings promising results of rapid economic development and living standards have been greatly raised as well. However, destruction to the environment caused by rapid construction in economics is also unprecedented, it is a great threat to our survival.Petrochemical industry is the main emission source following the power industry. It is clearly proposed in The Twelfth Five-Year Plane that total emissions of major pollutants shall be significantly decreased, discharge of sulfur dioxide should be decrease by 8%. It is demanded in Discharge standards for petroleum refining industry that from July 1,2017 for existing facility and from July 1,2015 for new facility, SO2,which produced by catalytic cracking flue gas should be restricted within 100mg/m3.Since at present foreign technology is adopted in catalytic cracking flue gas desulfurization devices in domestic refinery, it is rather urgent and important that whether introduction technology will be assimilated, absorbed and re-innovated especially in the conditions that pollutant emission reduction targets of the 12th five-year plan are completed as well as the improved emission limits standard are met.Sulfur dioxide emission reduction technological innovation is born with dual attributes of R&D and engineering application. On the one hand, new emission reduction technology needs to be fully objective argued for their feasibility, practicality and progressiveness. On the other hand, the new technology needs to be proved a success only when it is applied in device and actual testing data meet the desired result. Furthermore, SO2 emission reduction is a career which can maintain healthy economic development for offspring. It reflects business ethics and social morality.In this article, survey, data statistics and case analysis are used. Surrounding with process of A company’s catalytic cracking flue gas desulfurization technology introduction, assimilation & absorption and re-innovation, combining with theory, the study analyze whole procedure of innovation, steps taken for measures according to factors which have effects on innovation, then summary out that "one-time buyout introduction+ assimilation & absorption and re-innovation+ application feedback improved type re-innovation" realize SO2 emission reduction technology introduction and re-innovation and solve the problem of pollutant emission reduction targets. It is also a best choice for a group company to realize technology introduction, assimilation & absorption and re-innovation with the lowest cost and the best effect to maximize the benefits of the group.
