Research On The Impact Of FDI’s Technology Spillovers On Domestic Enterprises’ Ability Of Technological Innovation

For domestic enterprises, the technological innovation capacity is a competitive edge to bring excess profits, the foundation of the subsistence and the power for sustainable development. As external resources, FDI’s technology spillovers play an important part in improving technological innovation capacity of domestic enterprises. Foreign direct investments bring advanced management experience, equipment, science and technology, shorten the R&D cycle, and improve the scientific research in speed and efficiency. Therefore, the research is of great significance for improving the domestic technological innovation capacity.Firstly, based on the literature review about the FDI’s technology spillovers and technological innovation capacity, the research factors are explicitly defined. Secondly, the author proposes a mechanism model to study the influence of FDI’s technology spillovers on the technological innovation capacity of domestic enterprises, and puts forward 21 theoretical assumptions according to the interactive relations among them. Thirdly, in the empirical analysis, this article defines metrics of the researching elements, devises the questionnaire, conducts the questionnaire survey, analyzes the survey data with the aid of structural equation model and SPSS, LISREL software, and test the conceptual model and related hypotheses. It is proved that 18 assumptions are correct and the mechanism model is in high fitting degree with the survey data, which demonstrates its accuracy. Finally, on the basis of proceeding conclusions, relative countermeasures are given.It is concluded that the influence of FDI’s technology spillovers on the technological innovation capacity of domestic enterprises are mainly reflected in the absorptive capacity and intellectual capacity. In order to make full use of FDI’s technology spillovers and improve domestic technological innovation capacity, the enterprises can start with increases of the intellectual capital, absorptive capacity and the utilization of FDI’s technology spillovers.
