The Comparative Analysis Of Engineering Project Management Mode In Chinese Real Estate Industry And Steel Industry

The real estate industry and the steel industry are two major industries in Chinese economy, make a great contribution to Chinese economic growth. With Chinese rapid economic development and constantly increasing scale of project in real estate industry and steel industry.There are many different kind of content involved in the project,the difficulty of managing a project is much higher than before, It demand a series of appropriate project management mode to adapt to the new type of engineering project.However,The development of project management mode is study on the domestic and foreign case in own industry, there is lack of study on comparative analysis between real estate industry and steel industry. The paper is the first time to comparative analyse the project management mode in two different industry and try to find out the regular rule of the selection of management mode.By introducing the concept of project management influencing factors, the paper make list for several factors that influence the choice of project management mode and point out which factor is more important to final choice of project management mode. By using the project management mode change from the planned economy era to right now, the correctness of influencing factors rule can be proved. The rule is when the difficulty of project is low, the owner have capability of project management, the owner tend to choose traditional project management mode, when the difficulty of project is high, the owner don’t have capability of project management, the owner tend to choose EPC or PMC project management mode. And when the project life cycle is short, the owner tend to choose traditional project management mode, when the project life cycle is long, the owner tend to choose EPC or PMC mode. And the concept of influencing factors can also predict the trend of the project management mode’s change in future.
