In traditional industrial economy times, strategic alliance partners of international automobile enterprises inner its industry. But under big data era, automobile, networks, intelligent terminal and telematics are connected. Automobile is carrier of extensive data and information the core of mature data. Under this era, cross-border and cross-sector al iance are forming. Thus its partner selecting method and criteria needs to modify accordingly. The thesis study on this perspective.Firstly the article specifies 4V characteristic of big data era: volume, variety, velocity and value. Then it clarifies new performances of strategic alliance as following: partners develop from inner industry company into cross-border, cross-sector enterprises; contents enrich from s imple to complex; direction grow from liner into grid; knowledge and learning type is forming; organization and cultural differences coordinate ability is emphasized; cloud platform is forming. On studying David Faulkner’s research, the third chapter analyzes strategic alliance partner choosing standards 4V: compatibility, capability, commitment and confidence. Then it details second-class and third-class index. On investigating global automobile strategic alliance practices, the fourth chapter depicts all index on sample data. With SPSS, linear regression equations on 4C variables and alliances performance are drew. The fifth chapter is a case study. Through case of SAIC and Ford, it identifies SAIC and Ford al iance status qua and existing problems for SAIC. Lastly corresponding advises are present as follows. The first one is develop cloud platform, enhancing strategic alliance form efficiency. Secondly, break through habitual way of partner choosing, encouraging cross-border and cross-sector enterprises. Thirdly change partner choosing variables, paying more attention to compatibility, serviceability, confidence, information ability, technical and al-inclusive ability.
