City has to provide good environment of innovation, innovation diffusion is the important embodiment of urban extroverted function. How to make the city better development, the use of innovation to create more value, and through the innovation diffusion connect with other cities, for the healthy development of urbanization increased power, make innovation the main driver of our economy, is one of the important subjects to promote the healthy development of economy in our country.This paper based on the city and diffusion of technological innovation as the research object. First in urban system and based on the research of technology innovation, to review and summarize the urban system and the theory of technology innovation, from the urban system and the theory of technology innovation in developing their respective theoretical foundation, to find the inner link between, at the same time, technological innovation diffusion theory is derived from theory of technology innovation, innovation system in the city of communication is done by diffusion, naturally makes the innovation diffusion and urban system closely linked together. The article introduces the innovation diffusion model and the innovation diffusion in urban system mode of transmission. Second, based on two typical Yangtze river delta and the pearl river delta urban agglomeration of diffusion of innovation research, the present situation of the technology innovation diffusion is obtained the characteristics of the spread in the city. Third, drawing lessons from the urban space geographic flow model to measure the intensity of innovation diffusion between cities, through to the Yangtze river delta and the pearl river delta urban agglomerations of the comparison of the diffusion of technological innovation mode that Yangtze river delta and pearl river delta urban agglomeration practical innovation diffusion model. Through the study found that Yangtze river delta and Pearl river delta urban system are all comply with the principle of hierarchy diffusion. Research shows that urban size and diffusion have important influence on innovation, the more the bigger cities, the research on the investment, the stronger the city innovation ability and the innovation diffusion, this phenomenon is particularly significant in the Pearl river delta urban agglomeration. According to the research, results on the development of city scale and innovation diffusion how to better provide feasible advice.
