An Analysis Of Promoting The Transformation Of The Export Structure Of Baoding City

With the enhancing of China’s new round of opening up efforts, export trade has become an important economic strategy and has played an important role in promoting China’s economic development, but due to the negative influences in the slow recovery of the world economy, severe situation of global trade protectionism, RMB appreciation, corporate costs increase and other unfavorable factors, the export of Baoding is facing severe challenges. Therefore, researching the situation of Baoding’s exports, problems, analyzing causes to the problems and propose countermeasures shall have important guiding significance.The paper firstly conducted analysis of Baoding’s trade status in terms of leading export scale, export-oriented industries, main export markets and export commodity structure, and concluded that the overall export growth of Baoding has been in a downward trend, while the processing trade volume is constantly increasing, and electromechanical export has become the main force, and the emerging markets total export has been rising. Secondly, the study found that a number of problems exist in the city’s export, namely, the export volume is small, export structure needs to be optimized, over-reliance on traditional markets, and irrational structure of the leading export sectors. Finally, aimed at the problems of export structure, this paper proposed countermeasures and policies in optimizing the export structure, “grasping the two ends” in processing trade based on the pillar industries, accelerating the development of high value-added service industry, increasing investment in technology to cultivate self-owned brands, pioneering emerging markets, and making great efforts in training foreign trade personnel and other suggestions.
