With the economic growth and upgrading of industrial structure, farmers gradually separated themselves from agriculture and engaged in the secondary and tertiary industries. More and more people live in the city.So there is expansion in the scale and the number of cities,In which the improvement of the infrastructure is indispensable. From 1992 to 2012, about 8.5% of the GDP was spent in the improvement of infrastructure in China,Which is far more than the average level of2.6% in the United States and the European Union. Now China has become the number one in the investment in the improvement of infrastructure such as highways,high-speed rail, bridges and so on. To cope with the international financial crisis in2008, China issued the "Four Trillion" stimulus package which is boosting the leap-forward development of the infrastructure in our country. Therefore, in this paper,we focused on the influence of the development of the infrastructure on the urbanization. First we carried on the theoretical analysis. On the one hand we thought that the economic growth will be improved through the increase of investment, consumption and trade with the development of infrastructure. On the other hand the industrial structure will be upgraded through the improvement of the second and third industry with the development of infrastructure. Both the economic growth and the upgradation of industrial structure can influence the residents’ income and employment which can eventually affect urbanization. Then, we carry on the comprehensive evaluation about the overall development of China’s infrastructure from 1990 to 2013.We do the empirical test on the impact of the development of China’s infrastructure from 1990 to 2013 on the urbanization in our country.Through the empirical test we draw the following conclusions:From1990 to2013,theoverall development of China’s infrastrucyure has grdually improved and it has direct and positive effect on the urbanization but not obvious; The development of the traffic infrasructure, environment infrastructure,science-education-culture-health ifrastructure promotes the urbanization directly and significantly, but the development of the energy infrastructure, information infrasructure, social security infrastructure has negative effect on the urbannization significantly; In the indirect effect, the development of infrastructure can promote economic growth and in turn promote urbannization. But it reduces the effects of FDI on China’s urbanization.Although theimprovement of the people’s income plays the biggest role on the urbanization, but the development of infrastructure has weaken this effect.Based on the above conclusions,we proposed to speed up the construction and coordinated development of all kinds of infrastructure;Pay more attention to the effect of infrastructure on the industrial upgrading;Introduce FDI with high quality;Increase the income of residents and strengthen the construction of infrastructure of urban life; Introduce private capital in infrastructure financing.
