In today’s economic environment, excellent logistics performance can help companies gain a foothold in the fierce competition, and lean supply chain can eliminate non-value-added supply chain activities in order to reduce logistics costs, so existing businesses continue to pursue lean supply chain. Lean supply chain vulnerable to interference uncertainties with low inventory and high timeliness. And the food cold chain not only has the lean supply chain general characteristics but also have higher requirements on the temperature and shelf life. Robust design can reduce system variability caused by uncertain fluctuations, so it is possible to reduce the impact of uncertainties through robust design of the food chain logistics system.From the perspective of the food cold chain logistics system, found that the current food cold chain logistics system robustness research focused on countermeasures elaborate, lack of research on the use of quantitative methods for whole food chain logistics system robust design. Therefore, in this paper, we use quantitative methods to redesign the food cold chain logistics system that can reduce the uncertainty impact to the system, thereby increasing profits and service levels of the system.Robust design food chain logistics system requires the use of robust design methods, so at first we analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each robust design methods. Then base on a lot of literature, we analyze the external factors that affect the food chain logistics system robustness; according to the function of each part of the system, we divide it into five different subsystems, they are packaging, warehousing, transportation, distribution and information. Through a detailed analysis of literature, we identify the internal factors and eight important factors, and we establish a conceptual model of food chain logistics system robust factors.Clearly, food cold chain logistics system is a multi-response system, only use robust design methods cannot meet the robustness and excellent properties of the system. To overcome this problem, we propose DRSM-D methods based on the analysis of multiple response optimization method and the existing robust multi-response optimization method.Finally, we use A company as an example, based on DRSM-D method to establish a robust optimization model of the food cold chain logistics system. Firstly, we find outputs and inputs of the food cold chain logistics system, and then use DRSM-D method to design the system. Compare its optimization results with the existing robust optimization results and we draw the following conclusions, the results of the proposed method are more advantages and effectiveness than the existing robust optimization method obtain.
