Performance Evaluation Of Listed Logistics Companies

As a compound and productive service industry, modern logistics is a blend of industries such as transportation, warehousing, trade and information, which is a major component of producer services. Developing modern logistics industry vigorously has the significance and pivotal position to optimize the environment of economic development in our country, realize the linkage development between industries, reduce the cost of items in the market circulation and improve the economic efficiency and the comprehensive quality of service in our country.Modern logistics industry is the booming and new industry in recent years, whose sustainable and healthy development relies on the development of logistics enterprises. However, Logistics enterprises of our country starts late and the whole industry is in the stage of transition and upgrade. At the present stage, our country exists some outstanding problems, such as the weak profitability in the listed company under the constraint of the logistics costs, the shortage of modern logistics professional talents. What’s more, the integrated performance evaluation is less in the current domestic academic research on logistics performance of listed companies. Instead of focusing on the social responsibility, they pay more attention to the building of financial index system. Therefore, it is an urgent and significant problem to combine the present situation of logistics development and characteristics of listed companies, using scientific and effective evaluation method for comparing the performance of listed companies in logistics.Focusing on the performance evaluation of listed logistics companies, this paper uses the research method of combining qualitative and quantitative to analyze. The main research content is: the first part mainly expounds the research background, purpose and significance of this paper, the research status both in domestic and abroad, etc.; The second part reviews the related theories about the logistics performance evaluation of listed companies, respectively on the connotation and characteristics of logistics,the concept and classification of logistics enterprise, the performance, the performance evaluation, the basis of performance evaluation of enterprises, enterprise performance evaluation index system and the enterprise performance evaluation methods, etc.; In the third part, the paper analyzes the basic situation of listed logistics company; In the Fourth part, this paper construct a performance evaluation index system of listed logistics companies and expounds the connotation of each index, the processing methods during the standardization of evaluation index and the principle of the entropy weight method of empowerment. Fifth, this paper studies the methods of performance evaluation in listed logistics companies, mainly analyzes on the advantages of the grey correlation analysis method, then elaborates the grey of listed logistics companies from the financial information and non-financial information and chooses the more mature grey association analysis method in grey system theory as the Evaluation method in this paper. And this article expounds the basic idea of this method in detail, the basic model and calculating steps;In the six part, this paper comprehensively analyzes the data of listed logistics companies in 2013 according to the collected statistics of 33 related companies; Finally, this article puts forward some related suggestions from the aspects of managers in listed logistics companies,and gives targeted suggestions on how to improve the overall performance of both listed logistics companies and others which are not unlisted.
