Affordable housing policy is an important livelihood security in China, has an important role for social justice and improve people’s overall living standards. With the acceleration of urbanization, urban affordable housing demand is also increasing. Its research has a very important practical significance.In this paper, take the siting of affordable housing space as object of study, based on the analysis of relevant research at home and abroad, the article discusses the basic theory of space siting of affordable housing. Summed up the three theories of affordable housing space siting apply, including TOD transportation oriented, SOD service-oriented and mixed staggered layout mode theory. Objective analysis reviews about the typical national and regional’s failures and successes on the siting of affordable housing space, provide reference for siting of affordable housing space research.
