Energy shortage is a bottleneck problem of currently accepted plagued most countries of the world e conomic development. Especially the serious situation in our country, not only the rapid development of ci ty gas related industries use makes China’s natural gas supply gap is increasing year by year, and imports o f natural gas and external dependence is gradually increasing, it is more important to our country’s energy s ecurity also constitutes a hidden danger. To get rid of this dilemma sufficient and sustainable energy suppl y, must find a crack in conventional oil and gas resources shortage problem. So, shale gas as a new energy alternative emerge as the times require good performance. Chinese government is very concerned about gl obal development trend of new energy in this clean shale gas, and as soon as possible in the domestic explo ration and development of shale gas industry, the early realization of shale gas energy supply. Shale gas res ources in China is abundant, but it is still in the primary stage of development at present, the development and utilization of the theory and practical experience are relatively lack, shale gas development and utilizat ion of relevant experience from mature countries, will have a multiplier effect. America shale gas develop ment and utilization through development of nearly a century, there have been more mature theory and pra ctice experience for our reference, learning in the aspects of research and exploration and development of s hale gas.Based on the review of domestic and abroad research on first put forward the feasibility and necessit y of China’s shale gas development, namely China shale gas development as a necessary strategic energy a nd economic development, and put forward the feasibility in the policy, law, international cooperation. At t he same time, analyzing the present situation of shale gas in China and draw lessons from the successful ex perience of American shale gas development. The preliminary conclusion of shale gas in China’s basic nati onal conditions and development prospect. From the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities, threats to el aborate on four aspects of shale gas in China is faced with the internal and external environment. On the ba sis of using the analytic hierarchy process as hierarchical analysis, results show that shale gas development strategy in the future.The application of enterprise strategy optimization model based on AHP analysis method, to China’s shale gas and external environmental factors, the importance of advantage, disadvantage, opportunity and threat, systematic, scientific, detailed description. Through the calculation of strategic options order as: re sistance type strategy > development oriented strategy > reverse strategy > conservative strategy, strategic scheme of shale gas in our country is the optimal development strategy. Therefore, China’s shale gas devel opment should first use of resources, speed up the process of exploration and development, to meet the ene rgy demand; should seize the government supports the shale gas industry development opportunities secon d enterprise, mining and promotes the development of shale gas; again, the government should actively guide the investment of shale gas and related industries, to create a good capital environment; finally, study th e international advanced experience, especially the successful experience of the United States, strengthen i nternational cooperation and exchange.
