A Research On The Relationships Among Control Mechanisms, Technical Knowledge Conversation And Performance In Cooperative R&D

Competition model has changed completely in the knowledge economy age. Technological capabilities have become the leading resources to innovate and improve the performance and the ability of competitiveness. Technical knowledge is implicit, dependent and complexity. Therefore, it is inherently difficult to achieve technical knowledge conversation. What’s more, it is relatively difficult for individual enterprise to enhance the technical capacity and performance through researching independently because of the weak technological capacity and low starting point. Therefore, cooperative R&D becomes an inevitable choice for many companies. Based on knowledge management perspective, the generation and access of technical knowledge is the logical starting point of improving technological innovation ability, while technical knowledge conversation is the primary way to generate and access the technical knowledge. Therefore it is the core part in cooperative R&D. However, the existing of opportunistic psychology hinders the realization of technological knowledge conversation, which needs taking effective control mechanism to ensure the achievement of technology knowledge conversation and improve the performance of the cooperative R&D.Taking cooperative R&D as the background, Firstly, we sort out relevant literature systematically, and then, control mechanism is divided into contract control and trust control; technical knowledge conversation is divided into dominant knowledge conversation, individual knowledge conversation and collective knowledge conversation; cooperative R&D performance is divided into innovation performance and obtaining capacity performance. Whereby, underlying assumptions are proposed and theoretical model is constructed.Secondly, In order to get an effective formal questionnaire, we investigated the pre-test questionnaire, and then, the research intend to use the enterprises which have cooperative R&D projects as the research object to sent out formal questionnaires widely, SPSS20.0 and AMOS21.0 are applied to analyze data and structural model by gaining data from 259 enterprises.At last, according to the empirical results, we draw the following conclusions: (1) Contract control has a positive impact on dominant knowledge conversation, but it has no significant effect on individual knowledge conversation and collective knowledge conversation; (2) trust control has a positive impact on dominant knowledge conversation, individual knowledge conversation and collective knowledge conversation; (3) technical knowledge conversation has a positive impact on innovation performance and obtaining capacity performance.
