Since the 21st century, China’s auto industry is developing rapidly. The annual production and sales have reached more than twenty-three million by the end of 2014, which makes China become the top one auto-manufacturing country in the world. The growth of the auto production and sales promotes the automobile industry rapid development. In order to reduce costs, a large quantity of auto parts is transferred by each auto enterprise from the internal production to external supplier production, which is more specialized in the division of production and logistics labors. Hence, the concept of inbound logistics and its relative management guidelines and theories come into being. An excellent inbound logistics mode can directly improve the efficiency of auto manufacturing, shorten the production time, and improve the flexibility and agility of supply chains. So the inbound logistics is an essential part for the enterprise to improve its competitiveness. At present, Shanghai GM Dong Yue Motors is the largest manufacturing base in Shanghai GM system and it leads in both annual output and sales in the domestic auto industry. Due to the multi-platform, multi-model production, and the large number of auto parts, there currently are three main types of inbound logistics modes, namely JIT (just in time, also known as non-stock production), MR (milk run, i.e. cycle pickup), and the third-party logistics outsourcing, which are ahead in the domestic auto industry. But through in-depth analysis in this paper, there are still some problems in its logistics mode, such as excessive transit warehouses, the waste of resources in the main-line transport and so on. Based on the current study at home and abroad and the relative theory, the paper makes analysis on the logistic mode in Shanghai GM Dong Yue Motors, points out its problems and makes optimized projects and quantitative cost calculation on the problems. According to the analytic hierarchy process, the paper suggests that the warehouse in SGM Dong Yue Motors should be integrated. There are some restrictions, such as the warehouse area, the car loading rate, and the frequency of delivery. Taking these restrictions into account, the vehicle optimized number can be calculated before and after the warehouse integration. At last, the paper makes cost comparison analysis before and after the optimization and makes a conclusion that 3 trucks with 8m can be optimized, which can save RMB 1,094,400 every year.
