With the development of information technology and the growing bank dependence on it, IT has played an important supporting role for business management. Under the background of bank’s increasing investment in IT and the reliance on IT, how to ensure effective ROI is a serious problem for all practitioners.A new era of informatization construction occurred in HuaRongXi angJiang Bank since 2010. It shows high request to the HuaRongXiang Jiang Bank data center operation and maintenance services when the a mount of information system doubles every year and the data center is forced to relocate. However, the IT operation business of HuaRongXi angJiang Bank data center remained mainly rely on artificial and paper circulation, the development of management lags behind the informati zation construction progress.According to the knowledge of the architecture of ITIL, this paper gives the analysis of the current situation of HuaRongXiangJiang Bank’s maintenance management in the data center and provides methods and practices to promote its operation management level. Firstly, this paper researches on the basic concepts related to data center operation management category which is based on ITIL theory and data center operationmaintenance theory in order to determine the theoretical basis. Then it researches on the status of operation and maintenance management, describes the process, efficiency, measurement problems existing in HuaRongXiangJiang Bank’s data center and explains the necessity and feasibility of introducing ITIL project into HuaRongXiangJiang Bank. According to the problems, this paper provides solutions for the optimization of the data center which is based on ITIL theory and data center operationmaintenance theory. Finally, combining with the practice of operation and maintenance management optimization in HuaRongXiangJiang Bank’s data center for more than 2 years, the author analyses the way that ITIL being used and the formation of ITIL’s best practice in HuaRongXiangJiang Bank, and also the meaning to HuaRongXiangJiang Bank’s data center of implement ITIL project. The relevant conclusions and recommendations of this paper can be applied to the management practice of enterprise ITIL project, provides the theory basis and the practice experience of data center operation management optimization for enterprise to adopt ITIL framework implementation, improve the effectiveness of the ITIL project, and as the ITIL project in Chinese enterprises especially to solve the common problems of application data reference study.
