Under the backgrounds of China economic new normal, the development strategy of the Yangtze River economic belt has become the one of three strategies to support China’s future economic development. As a new support belt of China’s future economic development, the Yangtze River economic belt has obtained the rapid development, but its level of economic development in the region is still exists big difference, and this severely hinder the economic sustainable development process. Agglomeration and spillover phenomenon are widespread in the economic activity of the Yangtze River economic belt, which are interdependence and integration, promoting regional economic development collectively.First, this paper applies exploratory spatial data analysis method, based on the analysis of the Yangtze River economic belt spatial economic agglomeration, found that economic development in the Yangtze River economic belt exist a obvious agglomeration phenomenon, and has formed "center-periphery" pattern in the spatial distribution, and has realized the transformation of the economic growth pattern from extensive to intensive. On this basis, we use production function model to analyze the Yangtze River economic belt spatial agglomeration effect of temporal and spatial evolution process, the results show that the scale effect of agglomeration effect below inputs remuneration and technological progress effect, and show a trend of declining. Judging from the distribution of empirical results, positive agglomeration effect mainly distributes in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan and other regions. Negative agglomeration effect mainly distributes in Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan and other central regions.Second, by introducing spatial variable to build spatial lag model, spatial error model and geographically weighted regression model to make a scientific estimation of the Yangtze River economic belt spatial spillover effect, and show the distribution features of spatial spillover effect and analyze the evolution process. The results show that the whole value of regional spatial spillover effect during 2001-2013 is-0.1201, and didn’t promote the economic development of surrounding area. Judging from the distribution of empirical results, positive spillover effect mainly distributes in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang in 21 cities and negative spillover effect mainly distributes in Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan and Yunnan in 19 cities. In addition, predict the Yangtze River economic belt overall regional spillover effect in the 2015-2019, the results indicate that the rapid growth of the Yangtze River economic belt economy effectively promoted the social and economic development of surrounding areas.Again, using the method of spatial variation to measure spatial agglomeration effect, spillover effect and the coupling coordination degree between the economic growth of the Yangtze River economic belt. The results indicate that the whole coupling degree and coupling coordination degree of the Yangtze River economic belt had a low level in 2001-2013, and there is a large difference of coupling coordination degree of economic between the cities. Hereby, the paper put forward four collaborative development types which are resource sharing, complementary advantages, associated interactive and networking radiant respectively. Finally, according to the result of the empirical analysis, this paper raises the relevant policy suggestions for reference based on the actual development situation of the Yangtze River economic belt.
