Financial Support In Development Of Family Farms In Nantong

The No.1 Circular of the Party Central Committee in 2013 pointed out to encourage and support large farms, family farms and farmers’ cooperatives. The concept of family farm first appeared in the central file. As an important new agricultural management subject, family farm not only brings modern agricultural elements into traditional farmers operating, but also avoids the risk of companies running, insufficient level of fine farming and other issues. Family farm will become an important mode of modern agricultural management choice. There is a pressing need for financial support in the development of family farm. However, due to various reasons, the family farm is difficult to obtain loans from financial institutions. So, meeting the financial needs of the family farm has become an important issue for agricultural-related financial institutions. Therefore, based on statistical data, this research conducts a study on the financial support in development of family farms in Nantong. We analyzes the status and problem of family farms’financial support and promotes some strategies for the development of financial support of family farms in Nantong.This stduy is comprised of six sections. The first section is the introduction section, in this section, we introduced the background, stduy purpose,employed methods of this study; The second section is the concept and the literature review part. The concept including family farms, financial support, based on the literature review, we proposed the starting point of the study. The third section is the status of family farm’ current financial needs in Nantong City. In this section, we analyzed the development status and financial needs of family farms in Nantong City; the forth section is the status and problems of financial support of family farms in Nantong. Based on household survey data, this section analyzes the status of financial support of family farms and the problems of financial support of family farms in Nantong; The fifth section is the econometric model analysis of the influencing factors of insufficient financial support of family farm. In this section, we use a Logistic regression econometric model to analyze the influencing factors of insufficient financial support of family farm; The sixth section is the suggestions of the development of family farms’ financial support in Nantong. Based on the present situation of family farms’ financial support in Nantong, some countermeasures for the development of family farms’ financial support in Nantong from the perspective of the government, the financial institutions and the family farms has been pointed out. Based on these countermeasures, we want to give best advices to the family farms’ financial support in Nantong.
