Research On J Company’s New Warehouse Design And Layout

With the rapid development of China’s Auto industry, Chinese auto market not only exceed the United States become the world’s largest auto market, but also Chinese auto market becomes the only one market which sales volume more than 20 million cars. Chinese auto market becomes the world auto parts giant battleground. The market share of Chinese market is even directly determined auto parts giant’s global ranking. Therefore they pay a great importance to the Chinese market; they have set up a lot of logistics centers in China to match the needs of the Chinese market. How to build a scientific and reasonable logistics center to service Chinese market is becoming an important subject for them. Due to the relatively large investment in logistics center, logistics centers are required for a long period of stability, so how to design the logistics center is not only affected by the actual business development, but also affect the company’s investment costs. At the same time, whether the layout of the warehouse location of logistics center is reasonable, it will directly affect the efficiency of the logistics center operations; And it is a import index of logistics centers operations. How to operations efficient and cost effective, and delivery to customer in the shortest time, are the targets of logistics centers. Therefore, the job how to design a suitable warehouse is very important.In this paper, company J’s East China’s design new logistics center project is the research subject. First, this paper will go through the introduction of the development history of inventory theory, and then introduces some principles of warehouse layout and ABC classification method and other related inventory management theory. Second, this paper introduces the actual situation of J company’s new warehouse, material characteristics of J company, introduces the planning objective and the characteristics of J company’s warehouse. Finally, this paper will try to use the warehouse planning theory and J Company’s warehouse planning practice, analysis and help J company’s logistics center warehouse layout designing process, to finish the final planning of J logistics center.
