| Due to the impressive technology growth and globalization permeation at deeper level in recent years, consumer products are required to meet more personalized user demand and to be iterated and innovated rapidly, for which the requirement of a deeper diversification in both function and system level in product development and design is put forward. Wearable product is a new product type emerging based on high technology and big data; therefore the solution of diversification problem is crucial for the success of development and design. To this issue, modular development method which aims to improve adaptability and scalability of the product or system would provide a new train of thought to realize deep diversification. In the field of consumer product design, the present studies of modularity are mainly aimed at household furnishing and electric appliance; meanwhile in the field of consumer electronics, mainly present research is design application and modular method in wearable product is still in its infancy. Therefore, this study mainly discusses the specific method of modular development and design of wearable product. In the long run, modular development in wearable product will improve the efficiency of product innovation for enterprises and will provide more independent experience for consumers and will be conducive to the sustainable use of resources as well.Focusing on modular decomposition, the main part of the modular development and design process, this thesis explores and deduces the specific methods of decompose wearable products based on product and user studies, then summarizes and raises the general modular decomposition scheme. In addition, a specific product development and design project of wearable health monitoring product will be done to verify the raised method and scheme. This study aims to provide strategic planning and guidance for modular design of wearable product, so as to give more ideas to realize the diversification of wearable product and promote its studies and improvement. |
