A Comparative Study Of Bayannaoer Sheep Breeding Situation And Its Cost Benefit

Sheep breeding industry has a close relationship with human life possessing advantages of small investment, quick turnover and high economic benefits. As in the 1960 s, the status of wool textile material declined, there was a development trend in the sheep industry shifting from wool sheep to the combination of wool-mutton, and then towards mutton sheep breeding predominantly in Europe and the United States. Mutton sheep breeding industry has developed rapidly in our country, and China has the world’s largest number of breeding stock and output of mutton sheep and production of mutton since the late 1980 s. The mutton sheep breeding industry is the effective way to get rich in increasing income and improving the living standards for farmers and herdsmen, as a promising industry of China’s animal husbandry industry.Based on the literature review and in-depth research on the sheep breeding in Bayannaoer area, the paper was to study it in the following four aspects. The first part was the overview of the mutton sheep breeding of the country and Inner Mongolia, specifically from the production quantity change trend, scale development, cost-benefit dynamic analysis of mutton sheep; in the second part, we made a concrete analysis of the regional characteristics and breeding characteristics of mutton sheep, combined with the survey data to make statistical analysis and find out the existing problems and challenges; the third part started from the differences in the mode, scale and region of mutton sheep breeding, to study the differences in cost-benefit of sheep breeding, and draw the preliminary conclusion combined with the regional characteristics and breeding environment of Bayannaoer city; in the last part, according to the relevant conclusions, some political recommendations were put forward to raise revenues and control cost of the mutton sheep breeding in the Bayannaoer city.The analysis suggests that, with the region superiority and resource superiority of mutton sheep breeding, the cost- benefit level of mutton sheep breeding in Bayannur City is higher than that of in Inner Mongolia and the country, so the sheep breeding industry of Bayannur City has development potentials. Based on the cost-benefit comparison of different breeding modes, the optimal mode of Bayannur City is company + farmer, cooperative + farmer, which can improve the farmers’ systemization degree and enhance the cohesion on the one hand, and on the other hand, is conducive to the accumulation of funds, the exchange and improvement of the breedingexperiences. From the point of view of the breeding scale, it is suitable for the mutton sheep industry development of Bayannur City using medium breeding mode, which strengthens the cost control and improves the right of market price negotiating. Only reaching a certain experience and financial support, will the development of plant expansions from the medium scale to the large scale achieve a higher benefit.This paper puts forward the following policy recommendations through the above conclusions: improving the mutton sheep breeding level and reducing breeding costs;strengthening the sheep disease prevention and control, and establishing a safe production system of mutton sheep gradually; increasing the support of mutton sheep breeding, raising the level of industrial scale and intensive, especially enhancing the reproductive ability of breeding ewes to adapt to the intensive mode of production and promote the development of appropriate scale breeding; in addition, government should strengthen policy guidance and support,enhance the monitoring and early warning information service, consolidate and govern the rural breeding environment, strengthen the cooperation with financial institutions to expand the financing channel and solve the difficulties in loans for farmers.
