The Comparative Analysis Of Contribution Of Economic Growth From Technology Progress In China And Russia

Economic growth has always been a hot topic in economics. Among the factors of economic growth, the technological progress is the most important factor of economic growth, and economists has not stopped its research. At the same time, the endogenous economic growth theory opened the essence of the research on technological progress for most economists. And China and Russia, as a typical example of two transition states, the study of the contribution of Chinese and Russian economic growth from technical progress is a supplement to the research on the technology progress in related fields. This paper is dedicated to the study on the comparative analysis of contribution of economic growth from technology progress in China and Russia. By using solow residual method, the contribution of the economic growth from technical progress in China and Russia will be seperated, which is total factor productivity, thus the reason of the difference between the Chinese and Russian technology progress will be analysed and then find the motivation factors of the economy of China and Russia.This paper contains four parts altogether:The first part, introduction. This part mainly is the literature review, and it is totally divided into two parts. It contains the study of the measurement of economic growth from technological progress and the study of the measurement of the total factor productivity between China and Russia.The second part, the role of technological progress on economic growth and how to depict the technological progress in economic growth. In this part, it mainly discusses the promoting function of technological progress to economic growth, the logic of contribution of economic growth from the technological progress and then from the perspective of theory of factor endowments demonstrates the reasons of the difference of technological progress.The third part, the calculation of the contribution of technical progress to economic growth. From the Angle of the generalized, in addition to the total factor productivity, human capital factors and the material of the technological progress will be also considered and then find the basic model of technological progress.The fourth part, the estimates and interpretation of the difference between China and Russia of technological progress in economic growth. Using the related data between 1991 and 2014, the China and Russia’s technological progress in economic growth is calculated, and then analyse the differences between China and Russia from the the research and development endowment resources endowment, technical ability and human capital endowment.
