Study On Tourism Development Of Datong Volcano National Geological Park

Datong Volcanic National Geo-park is located in Datong County and Yanggao County, formed by 3 Parks. The park gained the national geological park construction qualification in in August 2009,on the list of national geological park by the Ministry of Land and Resource in December 2012 and opened in August 2014. Datong Volcanic National Geo-park is the only Volcanic National Geo-park in North China and the only Volcanic National Geo-park developed on the Loess Plateau in the world,it is the largest and best preserved and most perfect Volcanic Group, with characteristics of scarcity, unique and great value in tourism development. At present, with the support of the government of Datong, it is also promote the apply work of World’s Geological Park and the World’s Natural Heritage.Based on the related theory of the investigation and evaluation of tourism resources and the development, carry out a full investigation of Datong National Geo-park tourism resources, with the method of comparative analysis and literature analysis with scientific and objective evaluation of the tourism resources; by using the SWOT analysis method and the method of questionnaire investigation of Datong National Geo-park tourist market analysis and the forecast of tourist market analysis, make the positioning of the tourism market, put forward eight suggestions to the development of tourism products, finally draws a conclusion with the tourism product planning table; six boutique tourist routes, design one day tour for science education, two-day trip for leisure and three-day tour for depth exploration of Datong National Geo-park.
