With the economic globalization and China’s reform and opening up, China’s economy’s experiencing the high speed development. The entire food equipment industry faced an unprecedented development opportunities, a large number of foreign brands catering equipment entering China market and the rise of China’s local brands makes the competition more intense. Meanwhile, the competition also raises more and higher demands and requirements for the catering equipment suppliers, which enable them survive in this special environment and period. Therefore, some enterprises with advanced management ideas have begun to pay attention to employee engagement, with the hope that employee engagement could attract and retain employees, and enhance the engagement to stimulate the potential of employees, and then improve company’s performance and competitiveness.In this paper,112 field service engineers from a catering equipment supplier company A were studied. Firstly, the related theories are studied, such as the Employee Engagement Concept, the Employee Engagement Structure Dimension, the Employee Engagement Influence factors, the Employee Engagement Measurement Tools, as well as the Employee Engagement Promotion Tactics and so on. Then, the current employee engagement status of company A and its field service engineers were analyzed. And the paper also explained why company A should concentrate on the improvement of field service engineers’engagement. After studied the present problems of company A field service engineers’ engagement, the author tries to find out the reasons why their employee engagement remain continuous low level, based on which, we proposed the more targeted tactics from management practice, internal procedures, IT method, Non-technical training aspects.The research of this paper is not only play aninstructive and reference role for the food equipment industry engineers, but also to help to guide remote engineers in other industries to improve their engagement.
