According to the scientificalness, maneuverability, systematicness and other principles, the thesis combines equipment manufacturing industries’characteristics, resource, capability, government’s policy and other aspects. It selects the all employees’number, gross industrial output value, market share and other eight indexes to measure the competitive advantage’s source, characterization and consequence. According to the Shaanxi statistical yearbook’s data, the thesis uses the factor analysis to check the indexes and builds the competitive advantage’s evaluation model for equipment manufacturing industry. Secondly, in the base of the Shaanxi equipment manufacturing industry’s current situation, the thesis analyzes the competitive advantage’s changing trend of Shaanxi equipment manufacturing industry from the view of the different factors and the different industries. Finally, the thesis uses the Gray Correlation Analysis to discuss the factors which affect the Shaanxi equipment manufacturing industry’s competitive advantage. The discoveries of this research are the following:Firstly, the thesis uses the factor of the resource, capability, policy, cluster factor and performance. These factors can evaluate Shaanxi equipment manufacturing industry’s competitive advantage.Secondly, Shaanxi equipment manufacturing industries’ resource, cluster and the performance are in a steadily rising stage. Every industry’s capability is changing complex. The factor of the policy is falling. The transport equipment’s every factor score is high, the electronic and communication equipment is in a relatively stable evolution stage. The other industries’ competitive advantages show the trend which is decreased and then increased.Thirdly, in many competitive advantages’ influencing factors, the clustering is the most significant influence. The effect of the production capacity and marketing capability are also obvious. However, the technical resources, government policy and R&D capability are relatively short. These restrict the industry’s competitive advantage.
