| Since Reform and Opening up, our domestic economy has developed rapidly, GDP has exceeded England, France, Japan and other developed countries in the past continuous years and become the second largest economy following the US in the world. However, with the rapid increase of economy, our domestic consumption of citizens has not increased rapidly, the contributions of citizen’s consumption to economic increases shrink to large scale, which brings huge challenges to the sustainable development of our domestic economy. As an important link in the reproduction of the society, it can directly reflect the welfare level of citizens. Therefore, the research on consumption problems has always been the hot spot in the academic circle. However, current research on consumption problems are mostly limited to the two aspects of consumption structure and consumption level; from research contents, few domestic and foreign scholars study on citizen’s consumption problems from convergence angle. From research contents, very few domestic and foreign scholars study on citizen’s consumption problems from convergence angle currently; from research methods, existing literature focus on cross section method, statistical index method, etc more, unable to respond the space relevance of consumption level and dynamic changing process.Therefore, on the basis of the research of predecessors, this paper constructs the model applied to demonstrate the consumption level, so as to explore the general consumption of our domestic urban and rural citizens, the absolute β convergence and conditional β convergence. Results demonstrate that the absolute β convergence of our domestic urban and rural citizens are not obvious, and the conditional β convergence of the introduced two controlling variables of incomes and relative prices are all significant, and the convergence speed of rural citizens are faster than that of urban citizens slightly; in addition, research also show that the "convergence" of various consumption of urban citizens has existed huge differences, the blocked information communication between regions will impede the consumption convergence.This paper also utilizes GeoDa software and Markov method to analyze the spatial distribution patterns of our domestic citizen’s consumption level and the dynamic transfer process, experimental results demonstrate that the "club convergence" phenomenon exists in our domestic citizen’s consumption, or the mutual transfer of consumption status in each provincial city is rather difficult; besides, the research of this paper also discovers that the consumption level convergence process of citizens in each our domestic provincial city is not independent, or the consumption status of each provincial city will significantly influence the consumption status of each neighboring provincial city. The main contents of the paper includes five following parts:The first chapter is the introduction. It introduces the backgrounds of the article, the research significance of this paper and the general framework.The second chapter is literature review. It summarizes the development course of convergence theory, and sums up domestic and foreign research achievements separately according to different empirical research methods.The third chapter is the evolution process of our domestic urban and rural consumption structure. It utilizes cluster analysis, consumption structure variation degree, contribution rate analysis, ELES model to describe the evolution process of our domestic consumption structure and the characteristics in each stage.The forth part is the core of this paper, which constructs the mode applied to consumption level convergence testing and demonstrates it. In addition, this part also utilizes GeoDa software, traditional Markov method and spatial Markov method separately to study on our domestic consumption level spatial layouts and space-time evolution process.The fifth part is the conclusion, political advice and the deficiencies and prospects of this paper. |
