As small and medium financial institutions, the rural commercial banks have been facing a great challenge:on the one hand, the competition between banks is increasing, the profit space is narrow, the scale expansion and profitability of the rural commercial banks are affected by the survival and development. On the other hand, the homogeneity competition makes the rural commercial banks lack the characteristic, it is difficult to show the competitive advantage.Therefore, it is of great significance to study the differentiation strategy of rural commercial banks, to break through the bottleneck of homogeneous competition and to explore a way to adapt to the development of rural commercial banks.The Xinyu rural commercial bank as the research object, follow the basic logic of bank management theory and competition strategy theory, combined with the revelation of the development the differentiation strategy of domestic and foreign small and medium-sized banks, the analysis of Xinyu rural commercial bank business development status based on, through the Xinyu rural commercial bank’s internal and external environment, competitive advantages and disadvantages analysis, combined with the successful experience of the development of small and medium sized banks at home and abroad, as well as the characteristics, behavior and value of the target customer groups, behavior, the value of the investigation, of Xinyu rural commercial bank to implement differentiation strategy in the theoretical study and feasibility. This paper focuses on the establishment of Xinyu rural commercial bank’s core competitiveness, analyzes the implementation of poor dissimilation strategy conditions and risks, clear differences in the development of strategic objectives, and from three aspects of market positioning, product positioning, service orientation, formulate implementation plans. Finally, the paper puts forward the specific measures to implement the strategy of differentiation from the aspects of resource allocation, internal control, risk prevention, corporate culture and governance structure.
