The automobile industry is developing rapidly, but also is facing the huge competition, especially the automobile parts enterprise. Product development management plays an important role in the survival and development of auto parts enterprises. To improve the management level of product development is to enhance the competitiveness of the enterprise in the market is one of the key factors. At present, product development in auto parts enterprises are generally facing challenges of high product quantity, heavy job and tight development cycle, which means, project management theory has not completely meet and adapt to the actual requirements of automotive product development, multi-project management has become the inevitable choice of product development management in auto parts enterprises.As for the multi-project management of the automotive product development, it is frequently mentioned in the communication within the industry and the discussion in the technical management but has less professional theoretical publications. Through the research on the application of multi-project management in the product development, it can make the project time more reasonable, the resources more optimized and also significantly reduce the risk, improve the efficiency of enterprise’s product development, and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. Finally it helps to achieve greater competitive advantage in the market.This paper from the F company’s product development management existing problems in-depth analysis, try using multi-project management technology to solve the problem of normalization of product development delay and bad effect of product development resulting from the automobile part enterprise’s facing high product quantity and lack of available resources and other factors. This paper from the organization structure management, management of resource allocation and project priority establishment, establishment of multi project product development process and management system and strengthen the risk management of product development and other aspects, combined with the specific example of product development, discusses the optimization of multi-project management in auto parts enterprise product development implementation steps and key points, especially the establishment of the organizational structure based on PMO (Project Management Office) and the allocation of resources based on project priorities are discussed.The application mode summarized from the case of F company’s product development provides a reference for the scientific application of multi-project management in the same type of product development and it has certain reference value for strengthening the automobile part manufacturer’s project management level.
