With the development of economic globalization, Countries around the world have joined the increasingly closing system of division and cooperation, the FTA has become a regional economic integration form which is the most widespread and common,the "trade creation" and "trade diversion" effect often bring economic benefits to the area of all Parties,being a hot spot in international trade. In recent years, the world supports the FTA and sets new rules for trade in the region, trying to protect their own related industries and trade interests, to change the world economic and political situation.FTA uses the advantages to change trade status through the rules of their respective countries, becoming popular means of the international economic cooperation, and rules of origin have become a mean which is increasingly concerned by the government.With the development of international trade, rules of origin has become an important part of the national trade policy from a technical problem of international cargo,as specific rules of origin and standards of the measure are different so that countries and FTA are very different in determining the origin of the product. So studying and comparing the specific content of the rules of origin in these countries and the FTA are beneficial to use of rules of origin to protect their trade, improve the utilization of international resources, to fully utilize rules of origin for the economy development services, to accelerate the pace of regional economic cooperation.The article summarizes some studies of the rules of origin as well as makes a systematic exposition of FTA rules of origin. The third chapter is the main part of the article, the European model of rules of origin and the North American model rules of origin are described and compared, summed up both their own characteristics and using trade data to prove that North American model rules of origin is stricter than European model, having stronger trade protection. The fourth chapter discusses the rules of origin of the world’s other major FTA and compares them and knowing north-north type FTA and north-south rules of origin are strict than south-south type of conclusions. The fifth chapter is in the perspective of China, China has signed FTA integrity summarized and compared the rules of origin which is signed by China. The last chapter depth analyzes the current situation and the issue of rules of origin in China and puts forward relevant policy recommendations.
