From 2012 to 2015, the international tourism resorts of Guilin will be promoted comprehensively, the service of the city tourism will be further improved, and the development circumstances will be obviously perfected. All these progresses will contribute to the preliminary building of the management system of tourism and the public service system, which play an advanced demonstration role around the whole nation. From 2015 to 2020, the international tourism resorts will be basically built and will become an important platform of the word-class recreational vacation tour whose destination is mainly the landscape-resorts, the cooperation of international tourism and the cultural communication. Guilin is a landmark tourist city, whose tourism is the abbreviated version of Chinese tourism. Its development level of tourism industry reflects the one of China, and the contradictions and problems in the process of the development also reflect the ones of Chinese tourism industry. Agreed by State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission formally approves Outline of the Construction and Development Plan of Guilin International Tourism Resorts, which marks that the development of Guilin has risen to national strategy. Under the background of the construction of Guilin international tourism resorts, this thesis constructs a study and analysis on the tour in the greater Guilin area from the spatial distribution, aiming to providing references to the integral improvement of Guilin tourism industry and the construction of Guilin international tourism resorts, thereby contributing to the development of national tourism industry.Tourism products are the core productivity that could transform resources superiority to economy superiority or even to industry superiority. Optimization and perfection of tourism products is always an important issue intently focused in the tourism field. Spatial distribution of tourism products is one of the important branches. Scientific distribution of tourism products not only benefits the better operation of every individual tourism product, but also relates to the healthy and sustainable development of the tourism industry of the whole area. Tourism products studied in this thesis refers to the ones in the narrow sense, which only include landscape attractions of natural entity and historical and cultural entity. Historical and cultural entity consists of the intangible cultural atmosphere and traditional custom, as well as the human-made landscape attractions such as theme park. This thesis first investigates and collects large amount of actual materials of the greater Guilin area including 5 districts and 12 counties, and selects 257 tourism products as the sample spaces. Then based on the division of tourism products of National Tourism Administration, the classification system of tourism products of Wu Bihu and the actual situation of Gulin tourism products, this thesis formulates a classification standard of Guilin tourism products. This standard divides Guilin tourism products into sightseeing tourism products, cultural tourism products, business tourism products, recreational tourism products, alternative tourism products and sport and health tourism products and other 17 subclasses. At last, this thesis analyzes the features of spatial distribution of tourism products with the methods of ArcGIS and grey evaluation.Supported by computer, the Geographic Information System (GIS) is a technical system that collect, store, manage, calculate, analyze, display and describe geographic data distribution of the whole or partial earth’s superficial space. The earliest GIS application in tourism lies in the making of the tourist map. At the same time, with its powerful spatial analysis function, GIS is also helpful in providing scientific decisions for managers and developers of tourism. This thesis analyzes the spatial distribution of the quantity, category and quality of Guilin tourism products. The ArcGIS software from GIS is used in the analysis and the map of Guilin administrative region is used as the base map. Some other tools used in the analysis are the symbolic system, autocorrelation analysis Moran’I, and the buffer analysis. The spatial analysis of quality includes the buffer analysis of the general quality of Guilin tourism products in relation to their location as well as their distribution alone the road and river.Based on the analysis of the related datum through ArcGIS, following conclusions are made:1 Key "central cities" are highlighted and the levels are clear. First-level "central cities" are the old urban areas of Guilin, radiating Lingui new areas and Lingchuan county (Dingjiang town, Linchuan town and Lingchuan country). Second-level "central cities" are Yangshuo county and Xingan county. Third-level "central cities" are Longsheng autonomous county and Gongcheng Yao autonomous county.2 Areas of high quantity-level and areas of high quality-level are distributed as cross-shape.3 High quality distribution belt and sightseeing belt almost coincide, forming a three-belt pattern, which is sightseeing-high quality belt, recreational vacation-low quality belt and business & festival celebrating-low quality belt.4 Tourism products present a feature that they are distributed along with roads and rivers. And the main roads and main rivers almost coincide, forming north-axis and south-axis of tourism products development.Based on the above analysis, this thesis proposes a development pattern of spatial optimization of tourism products "one core, two poles, two axis, three belts, three levels, multi-circle".Innovations of this thesis are as follows:1 Through sufficient collection and investigation, this thesis comprehensively grasps the quantity, distribution and classification of the 257 sample tourism products in the whole 5 districts and 12 countries. Meanwhile, this thesis also builds the classification system of tourism products based on the literature materials and the actual situation of Guilin.2 This thesis applies ArcGIS and spatial analysis of tourism products, making the conclusion more scientific and effective.
