The Application Of Information Technology In Agricultural Modernization

Since the 1980 s, the world economic steps from the industrial age into the information technology(IT) age which is characterized by multimedia technology, satellite communications technology, network technology and computer control technology, and the information technology wave sweeping the globe, IT has become the key factors to promote social progress and economic development, manufacturing and transmitting consuming information products, has become an important driving force of modern social existence and development. IT as a major driving force of modern technology, which is gradually penetrate to agricultural field, is playing an extremely important role in the modernization of agriculture.At present, the development of agricultural informatization in our country has been made some achievements, but overall the pace of development is relatively slow, largely affecting the farmers’ income and the competitive ability of agricultural products, which restricts the development of agricultural modernization in China. The thesis takes Donghai Country as example to analyst the current situation and problems of agricultural informatization development in China, and put forward reference suggestions. Through the investigation and research, we find the main problems of agricultural informatization development in Donghai Country mainly including: the governments play leading roles in and some leaders have not paid attention enough to this point; the overall economic strength of Donghai County isn’t strong, and the investment ability of informationization is very low; agricultural information service system is not perfect enough, poor service level in the total system; There is a serious shortage in talented people of such a field; many farmers have a poor knowledge of agriculture information and low income level, which make less use of it.At the same time, the writer puts forward some focal points and a considerable amount of suggestion to solve the above problems. There are mainly seven aspects: to play the governments’ leading role in agricultural informationization; to enhance overall economic strength of Donghai County; to strengthen the infrastructure construction of agricultural information; to perfect agricultural information service system; to vigorously develop and make full use of agricultural information resources; to strengthen the talent team construction of agricultural information; to enhance information-based education and training which help to reinforce the capacity of farmers for using the information.
