In recent years, tourism has achieved a rapid development in Xinjiang. With an obvious growth in market scale and tourist income multiplier, the Xinjiang tourism revenue in 2014 reached 65.169 billion yuan, and tourism became a prosperous industry in Xinjiang. Xinjiang tourism plays an important role in speeding up the process of farmers’casting off poverty to get rich, and contributes a lot to Xinjiang GDP, and the tourism industry has become an important pillar industry in Xinjiang economy. However, compared with eastern China, there are still some problems in tourism greatly restricting the development of tourism industry in Xinjiang including poor infrastructure, small tourism enterprise scale, a lack of high-quality talents, imperfect service system and other issues. Therefore, Xinjiang is an urgent need to break through the development cage, seek effective development countermeasures and raise the level of development.There are few researches on the performance in tourism or the influence factors of the performance in tourism in academic circles, and the researches on Uygur autonomous region which has unique geographical advantages, resource base and policy guarantee are even fewer. Current scholars generally study on Xinjiang at the macro level without combining macro and micro. And the researches on performance and the influence factors of performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang are mainly conducted qualitatively and lack depth with quantitative and qualitative methods. And the performance evaluation system for the tourism industry remains to be further perfected. Most researches on the evaluation of the performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang adopt absolute index which is too single and they tend to choose scale index rather than efficiency index.In this paper, through the establishment of evaluation index system of the performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang, using entropy value method, the performance of Xinjiang tourism industry is evaluated from the indicators including inbound tourism revenue, domestic tourism income, etc. Also, according to the comprehensive evaluation score, this paper uses multiple linear regression equation to analyze the influence factors of Xinjiang tourism industry performance qualitatively and quantitatively from the eight aspects human input in the tourist industry, tourism resources, transportation and accommodation reception, tourist talents cultivation, the government policy guidance, tourism infrastructure and social stability, and finally put forward some suggestions to promote Xinjiang tourism industry performance according to the analysis. The conclusions are as follows:(a) Variance coefficient analysis shows a significance imbalance difference in the performance evaluation indexes of the tourism industry in Xinjiang, and the international tourism income and domestic tourism income contains a lot of Xinjiang tourism industry performance information; other indicators indicates the performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang amount of information contained in these indicators are small and not very different.. (b) Comprehensive scores analysis shows that the tourism industry in Xinjiang presented a trend of rise on the whole from 2005 to 2014, a slowly rise from 2005 to 2007, and a dramatic decline in 2008,2009, but began to improve in 2010, and then a sharp decline in 2011 and 2011. Compared with that of a few years earlier, comprehensive score is high, and 2012-2013, performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang rose steadily, but fell in 2014. (2) Tourism Industry Performance influencing factors analysis shows that tourist industry human input has a significantly positive correlation with Xinjiang tourism industry performance. Transportation has a large the influence on the performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang, and the more convenient the transportation in tourist destination is, and the more accessibility it has, the higher the tourism industry performance is; accommodation reception is a restrictive factor in Xinjiang tourism development. The bigger the scale is, the higher its tourism industry performance is. Tourism talent training was significantly positively related to Xinjiang tourism industry performance. The impact of tourism resources and tourism infrastructure on the performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang is not obvious. Probably because tourism investment proportion in the third industry investment in Xinjiang is too small in the present stage, the government policy guidance index has little influence on the performance of the tourism industry in Xinjiang.
