Based on the 2012’s China Labor-force Dynamic Survey, this paper provides an empirical investigation into the job satisfaction for migrant workers. According to this research, migrant workers’ job satisfaction, no matter the overall satisfaction, the material satisfaction or the spiritual satisfaction, needs to be comprehensively improved. More than half of the workers are dissatisfied with their jobs. In terms of the material satisfaction, opportunities for promotion got the lowest satisfaction, and the job security, the highest. In terms of the spiritual satisfaction, fun of job got the lowest satisfaction, and the colleagues, the highest. This essay furthermore establishes a logistic model and two multiple linear regression models on the overall satisfaction,the material satisfaction and the spiritual satisfaction, then brings a conclusion: firstly, migrant workers who have the better human capital condition get higher the degree of job satisfaction; secondly, bigger size of network, the higher the degree of satisfaction; thirdly, the greater the autonomy of work, the higher the degree of satisfaction; fourthly, workers at the enterprise with a trade union, get the higher the degree of satisfaction, but the satisfaction declines when their labor rights are infringed. Finally, my essay tries to explain experimentally the formation of the current job satisfaction of migrant workers. Good human capital is the key advantage of migrant workers and the foundation of job satisfaction. Due to the imperfection of the labor market mechanism and the labor rights protection mechanism, migrant workers’ social network can bring them great advantages in getting a better job and receiving high degree of job satisfaction. The new generation of migrant workers who have a new pursuit of work, paying more attention to the work of autonomy instead of salary or social insurance, has become the main body. Due to Imperfect laws and slack law enforcement, violation of labor rights will directly affect the job satisfaction of migrant workers. The trade union is the official organization power of the workers in the enterprise, safeguarding the labor rights and interests of migrant workers in the way of collective bargaining,thus improving the labor migration in job satisfaction.
