Research On The Factors Of Farmer Cooperatives’ Participation In Community Building

As an important economic organization, a main feature of farmers’ professional cooperatives’ is community embeddedness. This main characteristic of community embeddedness decides that the farmers’ professional cooperatives’ development is inseparable from the support of the community environment. It depends on both the environment resources, but also constructed by the regional environment. NPC Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee Task Force believes that farmers’ professional cooperatives "bears part of the responsibility to promote the welfare of rural and social development, to meet the needs of the members at the same time, to promote the sustainable development of their communities." Meanwhile, the international social responsibility standards organization considers that any organization should bear social responsibility. Therefore, for farmers’ professional cooperatives,the responsibility of community is an important responsibility.On the basis of combing domestic and international research,Based on the theory of social responsibility theory, stakeholder theory, the theory of corporate citizenship and sustainable development, explain the necessity of farmer professional cooperatives to fulfill the community responsibility. The theories combined with the specific circumstances of cooperative research, designed to measure the index system of cooperatives participation in community building. And to determine the weight of analytic hierarchy process of farmer cooperatives participate in community building each index to arrive at the community building engagement survey farmers cooperatives score. And on this basis, we analyzes the influencing factors of farmers’ cooperatives to participate in community building with ordered Logit model, and then discussed and analyzed the results, we describes the main conclusions of this study and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions.An empirical analysis of factors affecting farmer cooperatives to participate in community-building show: director education, the establishment years, the scale, economic profits, earmarked funds for cooperatives to participate in community building behavior all showed a significant positive impact,government efforts to support cooperative participate in community building showed a significant negative impact. Accordingly, the paper argues, a regular Training of director, improve the degree of scale, strengthen government oversight, improve the market competitiveness all can improve cooperative participation on community building.
