By Anti-dumping and Anti-subsidy investigation over imports of PV products from China, the government are promoting the construction of solar photovoltaic power generation facilities and a number of measures to encourage the construction of distributed photovoltaic power generation projects have come out. With the gradual reduction of costs on solar photovoltaic power and the generation of photovoltaic technology continues to make breakthroughs, China has changed its way of subsidy based on power generation instead of installed capacity. Because of the fierce competition in photovoltaic market, energy companies are now focusing on reducing the payback period to ensure investment returns instead of the extensive mode in the past. How to get the best economic benefits and reduce the investment payback period is becoming one of the most concerned topics.Firstly, the article compares the different factors on distributed photovoltaic power generation area, including the solar panel mounting area, illumination intensity, generating efficiency and consumptive ability.Secondly, the article briefly analyzes the structure of cost during the construction process. The different benefit factors of the three kinds of customers are compared and the relationship of each benefit factor which has a marked impact on revenue is analyzed in detail to provide theoretical basis for investment decision. Finally, the decision model is proposed based on different operation modes and different return expectations. The problem of reactive power compensation which has a great influence on economic benefit is studied and the article provides counter-measures.The article provides references for the development of distributed photovoltaic power generation industry. The government can make appropriate policies and measures the cost of subsidies. Power supply companies can measure the influence of photovoltaic power generation on electricity consumption in the future. Customers who build the Photovoltaic power generation projects can assess the benefits of investment. Energy-saving companies can provide both consultancy and training.
