The Analysis Of The Exhibition Industry Development Present Situation And Existing Problems Of Guangzhou

Chinese Convention and Exposition economy dated from Canton Fair in 1957. It has achieved significant development over the past 50 years. It was firstly indicated explicitly that we should promote the healthy development of Convention and Exposition industry in the 12 th five-year plan. After 21 st century the Convention and Exposition industry has entered a new period of high-speed development. As the earliest city which developed Convention and Exposition industry, Guangzhou’s achievement is of representative significance. In this paper,the general situation of Guangzhou Convention and Exposition industry and its remaining problems are deliberated through qualitative analysis. The research contents consist of exhibition,conference, festival events, goal of development, spatial pattern, policies and regulations,industrial standard,related organizations and education. The conclusion includes six aspects. Firstly,there is unbalancedness in this industry. Then,the industry owns a low level of internationalization,falling behind Beijing and Shanghai. Thirdly, the turnover of Canton Fair decreases obviously since it enters into the mature period. Fourth,conference level and the strength of field is not symmetrical. Fifth, Guangzhou’s professional exhibition education status quo can not meet the needs of the development. Lastly, financial allowance is inappropriate. Therefore, the author puts forward corresponding proposals to the development of Guangzhou Convention and Exposition industry and then conducts discussion in allusion to the limitation in this paper.
