With the rapid development of the globalization process and the accelerating of the knowledge economy,professional values of employees is undergoing great changes. They gradually shift the focus to the development and success of their own career.However, with staffs’ career transition and job mobility under the changing environment, in order to achieve career development and success,enough flexibility and adaptability which shows a person’s charming are necessary.Through literatures review,we found that many factors can influence one’s success,personality is one of those factors.However, researches carried out from the personality aspects especially positive personality aspects are fewer.Previous studies always focuse on the study of active personality or the Big Five personality model.Therefore, this article will introduce the concept of positive personality traits, and regard positive personality traits as an independent variable,vocational adaptability as a mediator variable,to explore the relationship between positive personality traits and career success, and the intermediary role of career adaptability.Through the literatures and theories review,hypothesis were put forward in this paper,and we build a theoretical model.In order to test the study hypothesis and theoretical model,the study use SPSS22.0 to do descriptive statistical analysis, reliability and validity analysis,correlation and regression analysis.In the end,the study put forward countermeasures and suggestions for the rationalization of business practices.Through empirical research, this paper draws the following conclusions: Firstly, there are different affect between different dimensions of positive personality traits and career success,wisdom、outstanding、moderation and virtue have significant positive impact on success.Among this,wisdom、virtue and outstanding have significant impact on inside competitiveness,wisdom、moderation and outstanding have significant impact on outside competitiveness,wisdom and outstanding have significant impact oncareer satisfaction; Secondly, different dimensions of positive personality traits have significant impact on their vocational adaptability;Again, career success and its dimensions have positive correlation with vocational adaptability;Finally, vocational adaptability plays a mediating role in the positive personality traits and career success.Among them, on wisdom and outstanding these two dimensions,it exhibits partial mediating effect;and on the other two dimensions,it shows complete mediating effect.According to research findings,in order to boost employee career development and achieve success,this paper proposed some reasonable suggestions from four levels:individuals、universities、organizations and societies.This paper focuse on the positive power of one’s personality,and also provide some guidance and reference for university personnel training mode and human resource management.
