Abstract/Summary:
The public have been paying more and more attentions and concerns on heavy metal pollution of rice. The situation of farmland heavy metal pollution is more and more serious. Adjust the planting structure of fields with mild-to-moderate. In addition to for phytoremediation of contaminated farmland,it is an effective way to alleviate Heavy metal pollution. Main product of cotton is cotton fiber, by-product is cottonseed, it is the ideal alternative crops. Although corn is edible crops, when it grow in the cadmium metal lightly polluted farmland, After harvest corn grain, straw still can be used as the raw material of producing fuel gas, bioethanol. Farmland soil contaminated by heavy metal of Daye City and Shishou City are most belong to mild-to-moderate. The scientific adjustment of current planting structure can ensure the safety of agricultural production.Based on the questionnaire survey conducted in Daye City and Shishou City, ecological compensation for plantation structure adjustment for farmland contaminated by heavy metal is calculated via opportunity cost method. The estimated standards of ecological compensation for switching to cotton are ï¿¥620-1786 per Chinese acre, for single harvesting field and ï¿¥1006-1932 per Chinese acre for double harvesting field, for switching to corn are ï¿¥908-1055per Chinese acre, for single harvesting field and ï¿¥1053-1441 per Chinese acre for double harvesting field. However, cotton and corn cultivation are labor-intensive but with less profits which may not be easy to implement as the farmers stayed in rural villages are old and aging with few farmland per capita. Hence, in order to promote plantation adjustment for cadmium contaminated paddy field, other compensation mechanisms, such as policy support, goods supplies, mental compensation, are also needed. Finally, as this article is not rigorous, not perfect, puts forward suggestions for further research.
