On account of neighboring geographic positions,more and more enterprises follow the tendency of industrial concentration. High industrial concentration intends to attract high-level skilled labor and optimize allocation of essential productive factors. Meanwhile, mass companies will take full advantage of common infrastructure, reduce transaction costs and speed up industrial upgrading and transformation of growth pattern. When certain district possesses fairly excellent conditions,it is capable of absorbing foreign capital without doubt. Yangtze River Economic Zone is undoubtedly prosperous whose economic density is ahead of any other region in China. Therefore researching industrial concentration of Yangtze River Economic Zone not only has theoretical value, but also practical significance. On the one hand,as vital part of significant strategy layout, Yangtze River Economic Zone can exert profound influence on worldwide economy. Detailed analysis of industrial concentration about Yangtze River Economic Zone is beneficial to build theoretical framework of discipline of geographical concentration of industries. On the foundation of framework, research theories and methods of geographical concentration of industries can be set up in succession. On the basis of theory and methods related to the geographical concentration of the industry at home and abroad, we combine the official calendar of the "China Statistical Yearbook", "China Industrial Economy Statistical inspection", official statistical data of Yangtze River Economic Zone with relevant statistical indicators, location entropy and E-G model are also put into empirical demonstrations about geographical concentration of the industry of Yangtze River Economic Zone. At the end, we are responsible for making recommendations about development of geographical concentration of the industry of Yangtze River Economic Zone. Contents of this paper can be divided into four chapters, as follows:Chapter One Introduction:this part mainly introduces the research background, significance, research status at home and abroad about the geographic concentration of industry, and research ideas, methods and structural arrangements.Chapter Two Section of Theory and Methods:this part firstly sort out a set of concepts of relevant geographic concentration of industry, and organize four measures of geographic concentration of industry widely used by academics.Chapter Three Empirical Analysis:on the basis of relevant data and models, we evaluate geographic concentration of industry of 11 provinces of Yangtze River Economic Zone.Chapter Four Conclusions and Policy Recommendations:on the foundation of empirical analysis, we would like to put research achievements into practice and promote industrial and regional development.
