As an important way of further promoting the internationalization of production and deepening of the international specialization, Foreign Direct Investment has become one of the most important force for boosting the global economy and society. Since the implementation of China’s reform and opening policy, the use of FDI in China gradually expand, FDI in industries gradually expand. Since 1993, China has become the largest host developing country to attract FDI. China’s actual use of FDI reached $119.56 billion in 2014.However, while large-scale using of FDI in China, FDI in the distribution of various regions showed significant imbalance. FDI is more concentrated in China’s eastern coastal areas, but FDI is less absorbed in the middle area and the west area. Similarly, despite China’s economy has made rapid development over the past 30 years, there is a clear difference in economic growth between different regions..As an important part of promoting the economic growth of the investment of the three carriages, the effect of FDI on economic growth is remarkable. Therefore, it may be significant for studying the differences of economic growth among regions in China from the regional distribution differences of FDI.At present, our country put forward to constructing of the Yangtze River Economic Zone against the background of that China’s economic development is in the New Normal. It is the major strategic initiatives of regional coordinated development and the combination of internal and external opening to promote the economic development of the high-end level. The implementation of this strategy will be to promote economic development gradient from east to west gradually. Thereby it will directly contribute to the development of the region includes China’s more than 20% of the land and nearly six hundred million people. It plays an important role to promote the coordinated development of regional economy. Based on the real economy and the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Zone, this paper takes 11 provinces covered by the Yangtze River Economic Zone as the research sample to study the relationship between regional economic differences and FDI regional distribution imbalance in the Yangtze River Economic Zone. Then we find out the reasons for that FDI resulted in the disparity of regional economic growth.Based on these analyses, we hope to put forward countermeasures and suggestions that under the New Normal to make use of foreign capital more efficiently and effectively and to promote the Yangtze River Economic Zone region economy coordinated development. This paper is analyzed on the present situation of the difference of economic growth and FDI regional distribution imbalance in the Yangtze River Economic Zone. Then we select the residual expectation coefficient as the index to measure the difference size of economic growth between regions and FDI regional distribution and analyze and compare their changing tendencies. Then we analyze the correlation between them by empirical method. The next part in the perspective of the FDI contribution rate of the economic growth, we analyze the difference in economic growth in all regions of the Yangtze River Economic Zone. We find that FDI from two aspects impacts the differences in regional economic growth of the Yangtze River Economic Zone from these analyses. On the one hand, the amount of FDI is unbalance in the configuration between regions. On the other hand, there are differences on the middle and lower regions of the contribution of FDI in the local economic growth, but also is the area in the ability to use FDI. There are differences. This is from the two basic aspects of resource use, namely how to rational allocation and effective use of FDI. In conclusion, according to actual situation, we propose some policies and suggestions to narrow the disequilibrium distribution of FDI and relieve economic growth gap between the regions in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.
